Following in her mothers footsteps she helped raise hundreds of children, several now grown with children of their own. When she was pregnant with Lindsey she opened her own in-home daycare here in Pea Ridge. In 1984 she began working at Daisy BB Guns, where she met and married Tommy Thompson. She then worked at BareBrands Hosiery where she made pantyhose, which was her most memorable job. In 1972, she got her first job at IGA in Pea Ridge. She struggled daily with Covid fears and with her general health. After receiving a kidney from her son (Alex) in 2014, Jeanne has had many physical illnesses due to her deficient immune system. She was known by everyone as a deeply kind, caring and thoughtful person. She was a great mother and wife with a deep rooted faith. She was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority, Northwest United Methodist Church, a Stephens’s Ministry counselor, member at the Scioto Country Club and the Athletic Club of Columbus. She was proud of and maintained her counseling license throughout her life. Her career began with teaching fifth grade (a hormonal challenge of itself) at Hayes Elementary in the Piqua City School system, and later at Delaware vocational school in Delaware, Ohio. Jeanne was a 1967 graduate of Piqua Central High School, a 1971 graduate of Ohio State University's College of Education and returned to OSU to obtain her Masters Degree in Counseling in 1980. and Elinor (Kring) Slack (Dayton, Ohio) and a son Johnathan Oliver Slack (March 10, 1988). She was preceded in death by parents-in-law Maynard G.
